Srivijaya
East Asia & PacificHeartland today: Indonesia
The start rests on the Met's traditional founding date of 670, Yijing's visit in 671 and inscriptions of the 680s. How far Srivijaya reached is unknown. Sources date the loss of Palembang's primacy from the late 11th to the late 12th century, and the end either to the Chola raid of 1025 or to Majapahit's attack in 1377.
