A kingdom in the south-west of the Korean peninsula, one of the Three Kingdoms with Goguryeo and Silla. Its capital moved south from the Han River to Gongju and then Buyeo. It sent Buddhist images and sutras to Japan until Silla and Tang forces ended it in 660.
